Our guidance is free for families

You will never receive a bill from Harmony Senior Connect. Our phone consultations, community comparisons, tours coordination, and follow-up support cost families nothing — not now, not after move-in.

We built the service this way deliberately. Families navigating a senior care decision are already under financial and emotional strain. Adding a fee for help would put the service out of reach for the people who need it most.

Participating communities pay us a referral fee

When a family we've worked with moves into a community that has a referral agreement with us, that community pays us a one-time fee. This is standard practice in the senior care advisory industry — it's the same model used by senior advisors, placement agencies, and senior care referral networks nationwide.

The fee is paid by the community, not by you. It does not increase your cost of care. Communities factor these fees into their marketing budgets, alongside what they spend on advertising, sales staff, and online listings.

Not every community in our directory has a referral agreement with us. Some communities are listed because they serve East Tennessee families and we want our directory to be useful — not because we earn anything when a family chooses them. We will always tell you honestly if a community is or isn't one of our referral partners.

Affiliate relationship disclosure

Home care leads go to our affiliated agency

Harmony at Home is our affiliated in-home care agency, owned by the same family that operates Harmony Senior Connect. When you submit a home care inquiry through the home care decision page on this site, that lead is routed directly to Harmony at Home. We benefit financially when a family chooses Harmony at Home.

We don't list or rank other home care agencies on this site, because we don't think we could do that fairly while owning one. For an independent comparison, the East Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability maintains an independent provider list, and we're glad to point you there instead.

We mention this because we think disclosure is the right thing to do — not because we're required to. You should know when the people helping you have a financial stake in the outcome.

What this means for our recommendations

We try to be useful first. An advisor who steers families toward bad fits to collect a fee won't be in business long — families talk, and East Tennessee is not a big place. Our incentive is to make good matches, build our reputation, and have families recommend us to their friends and neighbors.

That said, we're not neutral in the way a government agency or a nonprofit advocacy organization would be. We are a business. We earn money when families choose our referral partners. If you want a source of advice with no commercial relationship to any care provider, the East Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability offers free, independent counseling.

We see our role as making a complicated, stressful process easier. We're not trying to replace independent judgment — we're trying to save families weeks of phone calls and dead ends.
